India has the grievous position in Open Defecation — definitely not a rank we would like to keep. Our project took the design approach of first questioning why the problem exists, which led to our understanding of the lack of facilities nation-wide as well as the urgent need for behaviour change. Open Defecation has to be tackled with a double-edged sword. Our strategy focussed on increasing communications by a three-stage process of making noise, creating engagement and finally, increasing participation. Read on to see how we made it happen!
