Our unique interactive print calendar design celebrates UNICEF’s key milestones in our country through an exquisite mobile application. Calendars are typically reminders for now and the future. For UNICEF’s 70th year in India, we looked back, while looking forward. Partnering with the government of India for the past 70 years, UNICEF has had a wide-ranging impact in many sectors. The common man is not aware of these great many stories of change. Championing these stories will create awareness.

Many adolescents in India suffer from iron deficiency, decreasing their productivity in the longer run. In the illustration, we spoke about a successful Anemia Mukt Bharat programme in which IFA tablets were distributed in classrooms, and locally grown Iron-fortified food was given to adolescents for healthy growth.

Over time, India has recognized the value of comprehensive education, which has led to the inclusion of ‘Sports for Development’ in the curriculum. Our illustration depicts the story of a well-rounded education with physical activity and Yoga, encouraging holistic development.

UNICEF played a big role in making India polio-free in the year 2011. We celebrated this achievement through the illustration to talk about the many actions they took to make it possible. The vaccine was carried far and wide to bus stations, brick kilns, railways stations etc, to reach each and every child.

The health sector at the grassroots level is multi-tiered in order to reach each individual in the area. Our illustration showcased Maternal and Neo-natal health by exploring stories that showed the range of interventions by the ASHA worker of the area, such as point of conception to frequent check-ups of the newborn. The community health centre was depicted as buzzing with women engaged in various activities: coming in for check-ups, traveling in a Janani express for delivery and availing the PMSMA scheme.
