Undo That

Undothat-Cover-1

Dear Readers,

If there’s one function in our digital communications we have all come to appreciate it’s that UNDO button. ‘Undo’ lets us even quickly rethink an email we sent out and ‘Delete’ lets us — well, delete a message. These lifesavers aid us in many embarrassing situations, and let us even swallow hot-headed rejoinders we’d shot off in a hurry on DM. We grew up learning, though, that words once spoken cannot be taken back. As communication designers, the words and visuals we put out there are potent motivators. We consider it our responsibility to say and do the right thing, under the circumstances. As we are well aware, now, in the second wave of the pandemic, there are many things we cannot erase or undo. The power of thought shapes the way we visualize our world. If we get it right, we’ll never have to Delete or Undo it.

This newsletter UNDO THAT is a short capsule. We bring you a little nugget Marking the safe zone about a free sticker we designed for use by organizations during the first wave. Graphic designer at Lopez Design, Saumya Mittal writes about Humanising Communication during the Pandemic. A big negating factor of the pandemic has been the issues of trust. Everyone behaves differently, leaving a lot of scope for trust to be violated. Check out my quote on how we gauge people, our (maybe wrong) assumptions about others, and why it’s important to continue to trust one another.

Stay safe, stay positive.
