Urban rentals and enhanced lifestyles for millennials.

Nestaway, a fast-growing online portal for home rentals needed a brand identity system that would be omnipresent, distinct, recognizable, and relatable. The unique rebranding celebrates Nestaway’s inclusiveness and goes beyond being youthful, humane, agile, and iconic through its simple ‘voice-box’ identity design.

Designed For Young Migrants 

The young enterprise began its journey by providing homes for everyone, without discrimination. Nestaway aims to be a game-changer in the rental market by looking at ‘homes beyond houses’ with their open policies of ‘no discrimination’ and ‘no city is a stranger’.

Mission = Basic Amenities + Social Needs 

Nestaway’s mission was not just to find homes, but also to help youth set up in a new city by providing basic amenities and convenient transactions. The steering vision was to make living easy and hassle-free. The brand wanted to create a platform where it could connect with young migrants, take care of social needs, and form meaningful bonds.

A Growing Enterprise 

Nestaway’s core services are offered in the home rental arena. With Nestaway’s program, you can pick and choose what suits you, from just a bed, a shared room, or a shared house to an independent home. Nestaway manages over 30,000 homes across 13 cities in India, for more than 72,000+ Nesties.

From its onset, Nestaway took on providing amenities and services while continuously expanding to create engagement platforms.

Home For ‘Nesties’

A Nestaway home is set up to give you a sense of belonging by addressing
your concerns and needs, even beyond the walls of your home. All tenants
are called ‘Nesties’. 

The young and ambitious brand is eager to morph and adapt in different ways and spread its wings. The Nestaway identity encapsulates this fast-growing enterprise, constantly expanding its repertoire in the urban rental domain. The identity system is unconventional, constantly evolving as users find versatile ways of using it.

Basics Matter

The identity design system was conceptualized as a space that enables you to do things by creating platforms that constantly nudge you to take the next step.

The logo was as a ‘Voice Box’ - a platform for expressing the brand’s core value and mission with a tonality that resonates with the voice of the younger target audience

Inspired by a balanced square shape - ‘a secure space’ paired with arrows which emerge nudging one to do many things and taking the next step. This flexible identity is the face of all branded communication. It stretches in different directions and holds messages in any form, making the brand easily and instantly recognizable in all communication mediums.

The ‘Voice Box’

Nestaway encompasses the new consciousness of a fast-evolving India.

We designed the brand to be nimble, ambidextrous, ensuring ease of use and flexibility. Nestaway’s brand language is open, inclusive, and flexible, providing many options.

The ‘Voice Box’ container evolved as a powerful conversational platform. Its implementation forms the basic brand language - highly flexible and impactful to get the maximum impact. Thus, making it memorable and easy to fit into various kinds of communications. 

The ‘Voice Box’ identity is bold, simple, flexible, and compact. Indeed by the demographic and strategic repositioning and branding, the brand’s tone of voice is, playful, candid, confident, and young. 

Feeling Familiar

The identity branding brought the aspects of ‘feeling familiar’ together by creating varied customer touchpoints from fridge magnets, neighborhood tours, Nestaway - certified vendors, and city maps.

Getting Comical

We also introduced comic characters who are simple, relatable models that resonate with the spirit of the youth at Nestaway. Nestaway’s candid angle was further explored with the playful use of cartoons - a useful tool to portray stereotypes, bringing in a dash of humor without being offensive. 

Nestaway is a  true enabler and catalyst enabling young urban migrants to explore and create their own worlds with a progressive approach towards safe-living, conversations, thoughts, and growth.
