Creative Director

The Creative Director is responsible for safeguarding and advancing the creative standards of Lopez.
Working closely with the Founder and leadership, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, solve complex business and human challenges through design, and ensure that every project reflects the quality, thinking, and integrity that define our work.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who continues to design, mentor, critique, and inspire.

What You'll Do

  • Provide creative leadership across branding, communication, digital, product, environmental, experience, and wayfinding projects.
  • Transform complex business and human challenges into clear, meaningful, and coherent design solutions.
  • Build and mentor high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Review, challenge, and elevate creative work while protecting Lopez's standards of excellence.
  • Present ideas confidently to senior clients, leadership teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Build design systems that remain coherent across every touchpoint.
  • Balance creativity with commercial realities, delivery, and implementation.
  • Strengthen the studio through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

What It Takes

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • An exceptional, design-centric portfolio demonstrating excellence in branding, typography, composition, visual systems, and craft.
  • 12–15 years of experience in a leading design consultancy or creative practice.
  • Exceptional design judgement and the ability to solve complex problems with clarity and simplicity.
  • The ability to work confidently across multiple disciplines.
  • The ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution, thinking and making, leadership and hands-on design.
  • The confidence to present ideas, challenge assumptions, and build trust with clients and teams alike.
  • A proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while remaining actively involved in the creative process.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing people.
