Dear Readers,
We breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon-dioxide; ideally, yes. In today’s changing world we breathe in a lot many other substances and absorb them as well. Inhale, exhale is more than a yogic mantra. And as we see the world literally and rapidly transforming right before our eyes, ‘design’ the field of our practice, is pushed to take an influential stand.
This edition of our newsletter COME SEPTEMBER, brings you stories of change. Two of our radical branding projects, Ayushman Bharat and Partners Forum are featured extensively in Brand New: Under Consideration, getting us amazing acknowledgements from people across the globe, reinstating our faith and trust in what we do best – authentic design. My article In(dia) through the outdoor (Led Zeppelin fans will understand) talks about these attempts to reinvent for our country by walking 'into the box' via another door.
In Millennials are changing how we communicate, our editor Sujatha Shankar Kumar investigates the generation gap, and how the younger generation is at the forefront of edgy communication. In Messages and messiahs, we trace the stories of how symbols and slogans have been purposeful for leaders in mass communication. Our guest contributor Indu Anand brings her ardent prose to Mid-life musings about design, where she talks about her first principles of design in her career as a buyer. In Revamping design education, three foremost design academics A. Balasubramaniam, Roger Connah and Deepak John Mathew share their views about how they have shaped design curriculum and teaching.
We invite your comments and thoughts.
Best regards,
