TRANSACTION OR TRANSFORMATION?

Speaking to the youth wing of a Jain community, I said everything we
make is by design. In that moment, I realised again that what separates good from bad design isn’t form or function alone. It is intent and purpose. Without them, design becomes transaction. With them, it becomes transformation.
Principles aren’t decorative. They are scaffolds to live by. Integrity as ground, not policy. Responsibility for what you create and choose not to. Accountability to users, culture, and the larger ecosystem you influence. Competency in judgment and knowing when to push back. Discernment to cut noise and find what matters.
Design is how we hold ourselves and what we create together.
